MPT South Gets Its 2nd Trophy for the Anvil Awards

The “Sights of the South”, corporate calendar of Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPTS) for the year 2020, bagged a Silver Anvil under Public Relations Tools Category during the 56th Anvil Awards held virtually on Friday evening, February 19.

Symbolizing Excellence in Public Relations (PR), the Anvil Awards is presented annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP). With its 2021 theme “PR for Good”, the award recognized the Sights of the South as a striking PR tool in promoting MPTS toll road networks: Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX); Cavitex C-5 Link Expressway; and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), providing a gateway to the historical, natural, and cultural gems in Southern Luzon.

Included in the contents of the calendar were twelve (12) tourism spots along the alignment of MPTS toll road networks: Las Pinas – Paranaque Critical Habitat and Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA) in Paranaque City; Bamboo Organ Church and Museum in Las Pinas City; Bacoor Family Ecopark in Bacoor, Cavite; Museo ni Baldomero Aguinaldo in Kawit, Cavite; Our Lady of Portavaga – San Roque Church in Cavite City; Alapan Heritage Park in Imus, Cavite; GBR Museum in General Trias; Museo de La Salle in Dasmarinas, Cavite; Our Lady of Candelaria Parish in Silang, Cavite; Cuartel de Santo Domingo in Santa Rosa City, Laguna; Binan Heritage District in Binan City, Laguna; and BTV World War II Museum in Taguig City.

The calendar features scenic photos taken in every tourism spot and were post-processed with a watercolor painting style to add drama and creativity. The photos were highlighted on a per month basis. Aside from the stunning landscape photos, MPTS added a new feature to the calendar, integrated into current hi-technology culture: a QR code is present on every calendar’s page. Once scanned by a smartphone, it directs the user to the complete information about the place and the directional guide on how to get to the featured tourist destination.

ANVIL AWARDS

Annually, MPTS produces a corporate calendar that is set to be distributed to MPTS stakeholders towards the start of the new year.

In 2019, MPTS’ Drayberks got its first trophy for the Anvil Award under Public Relations Program on a Sustained Basis – Social Responsibility category.

The MPTS is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MTPC). Aside from the Cavitex, Cavitex C-5 Link Expressway, and CALAX, MPTC’s portfolio includes the concessions for the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), the Subic-Clark Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), the NLEX Connector Road, and the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) in Cebu.
