Drayberks 2020 @ PABODA

The Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPTS), a unit of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), continuous to support the drivers of the national symbol, the Jeepney, by conducting Drayberks Road Safety Seminar among 30 members of Paliparan Baclaran Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association (PABODA) on Wednesday, December 16.

Since the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has started, public utility vehicles (PUVs) are one of the most affected sectors in the Philippines. Up until now, while the government is slowly opening the public transportation system after the enforcement of a more relaxed community quarantine, many Jeepney routes are still on pause to operate.

This includes more than 400 members of the PABODA who are still left without a livelihood amid the pandemic.

Hoping for their immediate comeback along the roads of Paliparan Dasmarinas, Cavite to Baclaran, Paranaque, MPTS also desires to educate these motorists who are driving in Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) regularly. Other than road safety in CAVITEX, one of the topics presented is the use of the RFID which has been pushed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for the cashless transaction to avoid COVID-19 transmission.

Seminar speakers were C-5 Link and Cavitex Security Operations Head Romeo Agcaoili, Easytrip Marketing Specialist Aileen Samartino, and MPTS Integrated Communication Specialist Mhanny Agusto.

With this, MPTS is looking forward to a safer and smooth transport of PABODA drivers along CAVITEX when they resume their route.

Drayberks is the social advocacy of MPTSouth Corporation to promote road safety along the CAVITEX, and CALAX, inspiring the motorists to be MPTSouth’s partners in road safety. It aims to contribute to MPTSouth goals of Zero Fatality, which CAVITEX attained last 2017.

Earlier this year, MPTS also conducted the Drayberks Road Safety Seminar among employees of the Philippine Multimodal Transport and Logistics Association Incorporation.
